Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our miniature siren models, 3D printing process, and shipping details.

What materials are used for your siren models?

Our siren housings are printed in high-quality PLA/PLA+ plastic, while the intricate rotors are resin 3D-printed for maximum detail and sound performance.

Can these models actually produce sound?

Yes! All our models make use of a mechanical motor, rotor, and stator. When the motor is powered, it turns the rotor, which "pulses" air through the stator to generate the realistic siren sound. Just like their real counterparts, the number of ports and the rotor design determine the siren's pitch, undertone, and overall sound output.

Are the files available for me to print my own?

Yes! All of my original designs, including off-sale models, are available for free on Tinkercad for personal use. Please keep in mind that reselling these files for profit is strictly prohibited.

How long does it take to print a model?

Depending on the scale and complexity, a full siren model can take anywhere from 12 to 36 hours of total print and assembly time to maintain high-quality results. Additionally, occasional print failures and printer maintenance can take even longer.

Do you sell ALL your models?

No. I only sell a portion of all my models because a lot of my other models are bigger and more complicated sirens that would take longer to make and sell effectively. However, you can print my other designs on Tinkercad if you're looking to make them yourself.

Do you ship internationally?

No. As of May 2026, we currently ship and accept orders within the United States. Shipping outside of the US is expensive, and liability (for example, if an order is lost or damaged internationally) becomes an issue. Keeping our orders US-only resolves issues like this.

Do you accept returns?

No. We don't accept returns for any of our siren models. Once a siren leaves our workshop, it doesn't come back. If you ever encounter any problems with our siren models as a means of rough shipping (damaged product, rotor scrapes, etc.), email me at mileswindmill@gmail.com and we will offer help from there.
